Modern weddings are a lot of work. For the bride, the groom, the bridal party, the family, and even for the guests, weddings can be an exhausting joy filled whirlwind. 

Weddings are wonderful, but they come with a lot of emotionally charged situations that can sometimes be difficult to navigate. No matter how you're involved,  you are someone who matters to the people who are getting married and that means you are important. With a little practical help, you can shine in whatever role you've been assigned for this happy day- we're here to make that easier to do. 

I've lost count of the number of weddings I've been involved in.

 I've been an event planner, a day-of-coordinator, a venue representative, a reader, a bridesmaid, a bride, an announcer, an assistant caterer, a bartender, and I've even been a guest a time or twenty. 

Arguably the most important thing to know about my bridesmaid and friendship skills is that I was a bridesmaid in my ex-husband's ex-girlfriend's wedding a few years ago. It was lovely.

When I'm not wrapped up in the world of matrimony, I'm a Flight Attendant for a major US Airline, a blogger, I design items for my Etsy store “Bright & Nerdy”, and I help my mom run our family businesses in Vermont. I’m married to Joel, an all American hero, and we enjoy long walks through Ikea, wrangling our herd of dogs and cats, and working together to take care of a tiny human. He’s pretty great.

My professional background is in politics, both as a candidate for public office and as a field organizer. I've worked for a variety of non-profit groups, in retail, in state government, and in event planning and coordination. Fun facts: about a decade ago I was a Miss America contestant, (Yes, really. Miss America. I’m serious.) and I’m currently a Unitarian Universalist seminary student.

I had heard too many stories of couples dealing with logistics day-of or been at weddings myself where I’ve seen couples (especially brides) not enjoying the day because they were fielding questions from guests and vendors. I knew early on that was something I had absolutely no interest in and so I searched online until I came across someone in my area. Enter: Caroline, an expert with a bright (pun intended) personality who knows how to beautifully navigate people along with the behind-the-scenes work. I knew Caroline was right for me and my now husband when she mentioned she had almost hired our photographer but didn’t due to scheduling and listed off some of the resources that I loved — A Practical Wedding and the Bridechilla podcast.

We hired Caroline for week-of coordination and day-of management but she supported us way beyond that. She was especially critical in helping us weigh our options during the pandemic. With her guidance, we worked through a very stressful and scary situation that involved postponing for a year and then a few months before our scheduled date, rescheduling again and finding a new location due to local restrictions. In addition to all of that, she really encouraged us to let go and trust the process as we got closer to our actual day. The only reason we could do that was because we trusted Caroline to take care of it all. 

From working with our friend who was officiating for the first time to coordinating the processional for our wedding party to managing the entire damn day, Caroline was a damn rockstar.

As someone who has both planned her own wedding, and who has worked in the wedding industry (as a videographer and an officiant), I'm a firm believer that the most telling reviews and recommendations come from other vendors. Caroline helped me with a wedding speech I was asked to give for my best friend, who lives in America while I'm from Europe. I wanted assistance with avoiding any US-specific faux-pas, and in general a second, experienced pair of eyes on my first ever wedding speech. Caroline gave me lots of good advice, offering written edits on a draft, as well as direction and feedback on a rehearsal over skype. She was brilliant - patient, communicative and enthusiastic, and it felt like nothing I asked of her would be too much trouble. Of special note was her help with photos. I was not particularly looking forward to having to stand for an hour or more to take photos (I love my family but there are a lot of them), but Caroline kept track of who was on deck to have their photo taken next, and we were able to get through everything in about 45 minutes!

I’ll create a custom timeline and handbook for you and your key players for your wedding day/weekend. Creatively named, clearly readable, and straightforward. You’ll be able to send all or parts of this document to your families, attendants, vendors, and venue contact to make sure that your wedding day (or weekend!) flows smoothly.

I can also create a customized wedding planning timeline and plan based on your unique preferences and goals for your wedding day. I’ll work with you on the phone and by email to put together an organized document for you to use to plan your wedding day.

At the end of your celebration I’ll tap the timeline with my glitter pen and whisper “wedding managed” before disappearing into the night.
